The course is required as a part of the BFA program. It covers the basics of trademark and logo and builds to include rebrand investigations and new brand projects.
Pictorial Logos
The assignment focused on the research, development and refinement of five conceptual pictorial logo designs that utilized non-verbal conceptual strategies such as: visual puns, exaggeration, parody, omission, etc. One final logo was used to create a new brand extension.
Logo + Brand Extension
Students chose one logo from the five pictorial logos, and created a brand extension of their new product including logo variations, typography, color palette, icons, label design and packaging.
